Western Illinois University issued the following news release:
It's 1 a.m. and you can't sleep. You're worried about your career. What do you want to do? You haven't had time to look at the want ads or visit a career adviser. Then look no further than the Internet where Western Illinois University's Career Services' Virtual Career Fair is available any time of day ... or night.
Beginning Friday, April 14 through Wednesday, May 31, Western students and alumni are encouraged to participate in the Virtual Career Fair by logging into www.careers.wiu. The online job fair is free of charge to participants and potential employers.
"Participants can review employment opportunities available through the Virtual Career Fair and can communicate directly with the employer, if that option is set by the employer, or Career Services to gain more information," said Al Waters, director of Career Services. "In addition to our on-campus career fairs and other services, the online fair is another excellent opportunity for Western students and alumni to seek employment options, as well as for employers to find quality employees."
Western's Virtual Career Fair began in 1999 and continued through 2002. After a four-year hiatus and a new resurgence of job growth, Career Services staff decided it was once again time to offer the convenience to student and graduates, Waters explained.
"We encourage students and alumni to participate in the Virtual Career Fair, and to take advantage of the many resources available through Career Services such as resume assistance, career workshops and much more."
