CRIME VICTIMS DESERVE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, TOO.(MAIN)

In response to your April 26 editorial on the rights of victims, I would offer the other side of the story. There seems to be no argument that crime victims should have a presence in the judicial process. The sticky point seems to be how much of a ``presence'' should the victim be allowed and is the presence going to cause court delays, etc.

I agree considerable headway has been made to allow victims a semblance of their rightful place in proceedings related to crimes committed against them. But long years of lobbying our state Legislature were necessary before victims were …
