COLONIE - Michael DeLessio injects himself daily with Copaxone to stave off the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. But when he returned to his Northway Inn room Thursday, he found the electricity off and his medication, along with his food, spoiled.
By Friday afternoon, the electricity had been restored. But DeLessio, a 52-year-old Vietnam War veteran who has called the motel home for several weeks, learned the facility was being shut down due to code violations and that he and his belongings would have to be out by day's end.
